Also, random aside. “Love” is too often seen as a passive and soft action. We fall in love. We become smitten. Someone steals our hearts, etc.... https://twitter.com/opfiercelove/status/1329427627652898816
And that’s not necessarily a bad thing! But what I really like about the phrase “fierce love” is that it makes loving a purposeful act. Something you are willing to fight for.
I don’t think enough of us, especially men, love actively enough. We are not fierce with our love. And it’s a shame because so many people could use that kind of love!
Love is too often tied to romance. But you can love someone fiercely and also platonically. All of us, but especially men, should be more willing to love fiercely.
That may not have been the most articulate thread, lol, but my relationship with the term “love” has transformed as I have gotten older
Also also....I don’t intend this thread to downplay people who experience love the way it’s portrayed in RomComs. That’s also fine! Nothing wrong with your heart going a flutter at the sight of a crush.
And I also understand that what I consider “love” may be labeled something else by someone else. So I certainly don’t want to try to imply a universal experience that is right or wrong.
