A story of ‘polite’ antisemitism:

This hateful graffiti was scrawled on a wall in Brighton nearby Jewish ppl’s homes and synagogues. My Jewish friend posted it horrified and one of her ‘friends’ deemed it valid criticism of Israel.

I begged to differ. /1
Polite antisemitism is not even being able to say that the words “Jewish lies matter” is antisemitism. Merely “antagonistic” as though the rudeness of hate was the issue rather than the hate itself.

That antisemites may have a ‘point’. /2
Polite antisemitism is invoking relationships with Jewish ppl in order to deny antisemitism.

With zero self awareness of the mirror image that you would clearly see has it been done for another protected minority. /3
Polite antisemitism is to present Jew-hate as “urban art form”. To widen the conversation so much as to make the targeted group invisible.

Erased completely. /4
Polite antisemitism is to remove entirely the threat. To strip out the violence.

To make the target a subject for “discussion” rather than the hate and its source.

Polite antisemitism is complicity, endorsement of the dangerous, rougher sort. A nod and grim applause.
