long term effects of untreated syphilis. The men infected were promised free healthcare as an incentive but were never told what disease they were given. This disease is known to cause Deafness, blindness, heart disease, and a number of other complications. (2/X)
Penicillin because the standard treatment for syphilis in the late 1940’s. The men involved in this study were never treated for the disease. There was no formal apology for the event until 1997 by Bill Clinton.
