Since I have been told I jUSt WanT To gO cLuBBiNg and my state is likely to be locked down again soon I thought I might do a little thread on all the people affected by shutting down one restaurant
1
So the beginning is easy and what most people don’t seem to look past. The people who are employed by that restaurant... cooks, servers, support staff. All loose their income because the place is closed. The owner of course looses money when there is no income.
2
Restaurants, even good ones, run on a paper thin margin. Even if they booked out every night for the rest of the year they will not make up what they lost. Some of these restaurants rely on a specific season to make the majority of their profits for the whole year.
3
That season may have already passed. There are also vendors for the restaurant food, drinks, alcohol. They all loose that business as well. Many also have professional cleaning services that will deep clean the kitchen or bathroom or things like rugs and linens
4
Garbage pickup, supplies such as plates and glasses or even new equipment for the kitchen. All gone if the restaurant folds. There is payment of utilities and taxes that will not happen (for those of you confused you need to have tax income to pay that unemployment)
5
But wait there is more!! Armored car carriers that pick up deposit and bring them to the banks for processing. Oh and the banks. They loose multiple ways. First there is fee income from regular business but it cuts deeper than that. These banks have given loans.
6
Loans for the building or supplies or raise capital to pay bills until they get to that ever important busy season. Banks that made good faith investments in strong businesses that were never meant to been shut down for two months and then have their ability to earn kneecapped
7
These banks are going to start to fail again... but this time based on good decisions, not bad ones. If you think it is hard to get a loan now just you wait till small business really start failing.
Every time one restaurant falls it takes a piece of their vendors with them
8
There are more ripples too... employees no longer pay their bills or buy things so the ripple gets bigger and bigger. Each one of these closures builds a tsunami that will eventually hit those people who are currently safely working from home telling us we should shut down.
9
So yes i am tired of the lockdowns but not because I want to go clubbing but because I am watching the people around me suffer and I know that more suffering is coming. We can protect the people at risk and let the rest of us that have a 99.99% chance of surviving live
10
There is a balance available we just need to use it.

End
Not actual end up there I guess but a little foot note

I did not cover everything in that list. There are accounts and lawyers and many other people that help in these businesses so if I missed something that you do I apologize. Just wanted to create the picture
