As holidays approach, the same thing continues. Tell people the truth. Tell it plain. Give people credit for having the ability to sacrifice personal desires and to change routines so as to STOP the virus. Help them with detailed ways to do this based on that uncompromising goal.

Have Thanksgiving virtually. Or delay celebration: For instance, wait until returning college students & the person who picked them have quarantined in isolated rooms in the house for a week & then get a Covid-negative test. No one who is quarantiningg should share a dinner table

But details like this are not made plain. As an educator, I know people need explicit messaging. Yet most public health messaging has only created confusion & resistance, not giving people credit for the strength to do what is right. Thank you to VT for telling us the truth here.
