Sometimes, when we think of correcting someone or calling them in that it's this big thing.

It isn't.

It's oftentimes very small and very easy and if it happened more often, the big stress inducing moments wouldn't happen anywhere near as much.* /1

Yesterday someone casually said something that was a dash sexist. I let them vent and afterward said, "So just as a note, you can and absolutely should clean your kitchen whether or not you have a penis, okay?" /2
In the circles where I roam, it's a normal thing for people to say, "Hey, gentle check here: that was ableist. Let's not." and get, "Oh, you right. Let me edit that. Thanks."

Social media is a wild place where people have you thinking that these conversations always blow up. /3
They don't and they don't have to. You can just see your friends, family, community members, acquaintances, or whatever say things that are out of bounds, let them know, and keep it moving. These places exist and we can make more of them.

Like... *easily* make more of them. /4
We have absolutely nothing to lose from doing so. Between whatever 2020 has been, dealing with the state of the US government as a whole, and everything in between, the corrections should be easy mode by now.

Let's behave as such. /5
Because the tea is that the people who are going to blow up about it, if you have been doing this whole thing correctly, shouldn't be in your circles. They should be gone and posting on FB or P*rler about how much they hate you and how you hurt their feelings. /6
Anyone left at this point, should be here to grow, to learn, to improve, and to leave no one out of the future we're going to except people who made it clear they don't want to be there. o/
That said, let me make this real clear: no one owes you this labor or education in these streets, yeah? Let's not act like we're owed these things. Also, I'm not talking about egregious shit.

I feel like I shouldn't have to say this, but everything out here requires disclaimers.
