We're talking to @allieyoung13, @NickA_Martin and @JJ_Harvill about how Native voters shaped the 2020 election.
"For Diné people, we revere horses," says @allieyoung13 on why she rode horseback to get tribal members to the polls. "We wanted to return to balance as we rode 2 or 3 hours in our homelands."
"What we needed to do was to try to support the community to get them to the polls," says @JJ_Harvill on the ride-share program that helped get tribal members in Arizona out to vote.
"There's been a lot of proactive actions by the tribes themselves," says @NickA_Martin on the lockdown in the Navajo Nation to address the coronavirus.
"The question now is will they continue to fight hard for Indian Country?" says @NickA_Martin on the outreach efforts by the Biden/Harris campaign to Tribal nations.
"We didn't let coronavirus hold us back," says @allieyoung13 on what flipping Arizona for Biden means to her. "We came out and did this for our people, for our children, for our ancestors, and for the next seven generations."
"It's got to be a priority for the Biden administration regardless of who heads the Interior," says @NickA_Martin on why the Department of the Interior matters to Native voters across the country.
