Dolphins WR/Wildcat Malcolm Perry's role has increased last 3 games, and he's been getting better and better. His zone-read decisions have been sound. He's ID'ing the cat blitzes, communicating, breaking off his routes to go hot. He's electric w/ the ball in his hands.
I think if you're just looking at PFF grades then you probably aren't doing Perry justice. They credited him with a drop against the Cardinals that was really just a bad throw. And I don't see how he ends up with a mediocre grade for his showing against the Chargers.
Here’s one example of Malcolm Perry ID’ing and pointing out the cat blitz, going hot. Just solid execution for an 8 yard gain on 1st & 10. It’s about being dependable.
This play, which happened earlier, again there’s a “do your job” consistency element: pointing out the cat blitz, going hot, catching the speed out. But what Perry did after, that’s about being a quality football player. Good for 13 yards on 1st & 10.
