So I am a huge metaverse sceptic. (It's not new and the resurgence of it just feels like VR five years ago - catnip for commentators, little reward for others.) However I am piqued by the notion that game-like functionality can help professionals https://tcrn.ch/3pFCWYh 

I've tested so many of these virtual space platforms over the last 8mo I'm always left comparing them to actual games - and they never match up. (Keep thinking back to a non-games event I went to - its virtual exhibition was like Silent Hill, and not in a good way.)

These platforms need to copy the things games aren't immediately great for - enabling, empowering, spontaneity, serendipity - as opposed to surface level stuff like bland avatars and pixel art office space.

Might write up a big thing about his but don't exactly have anywhere to publish it. Maybe I'll punish my LinkedIn contacts with it.
