So was Trump, though, and that effort failed miserably. https://twitter.com/MattBoxer94/status/1329416573715615750
Rick Scott may be slightly more competent than Trump, but in a fair race, at least, he'd lose pretty badly(about as bad as Hawley and Cotton would!).....my concern is that if certain election-security related concerns are not properly addressed.....
can we be so sure, then, that we'll have a totally fair election in 2024? I'm sorry to say, but this is not a certainty right now.*
*I'm sorry to sound so relatively pessimistic, but why do you think Trump was doing what he did? Is it really *just* because he's a sore loser? Unfortunately, based on what I've come to know this isn't at all likely.....
.....in other words, there probably *is* something more to it. Remember how Trump's had a habit about projecting his and his allies' own wrongdoings onto others? Well, it's not just in regards to personal foibles.
Someone needs to take a deep look at how many voting machines may have been compromised across the country-even if no *foreign* interference occurred, that doesn't rule out domestic attackers at all.
And yes, I know what you're probably thinking: "But what about Trump and Dominion?". And to some extent, I'd understand. That said, however, to be perfectly honest, that was just a more desperate attempt to muddy the waters.....
and to get "normie" Democrats to not look closer into real issues with voting machine security-and unfortunately, it seems to have worked to some extent, at least for now, though I hope it won't last for too long.
In the meantime, a number of actual election security experts like Jenny Cohn and Jonathan Simon have been warning for *years* that our election systems aren't truly secure-Trump's attempt at deception & spinning the narrative does not change that fact!
And on that note....notice how Trump's been completely silent on ES&S + other voting machine manufacturers, while *only* attacking Dominion? It's entirely possible there may be a reason for that, too.
Here's a good thread from Jenny Cohn on that: https://twitter.com/jennycohn1/status/1327335339145318400

And that's just one thing. Also, why are Republicans only just now allegedly worried about election security when they were so cavalier about it in past years, and not just 2016? https://twitter.com/jennycohn1/status/1326356331054342145
And yet, they've insisted on attacking hand-marked paper ballots, even going so far as to sabotage the USPS to do so; it was only *after* Biden won did they start moving on to trying to spin the narrative around voting machines.
Prior to this month, in fact, a good number of Republican talking heads were actually *defending* electronic voting-my own parents, staunchly GOP since the '80s at least, bought into and repeated at least some of these same talking points
So it makes you wonder just why they'd go to all this trouble. I do know one thing-this isn't just a "cause chaos" operation as some may have misguidedly hoped-there's a bigger story behind all the spinning.....
And we'd better get to the bottom of it fast.
