There are books (and shows and games etc) I enjoy in spite of their flaws, but this means I recognize the flaws and that they exist; I feel a lot of people can't distinguish between 'I like this' and 'this is good quality'.
People make absolutist declarations like 'sex scenes should never be in books!' or 'low to no stakes are more virtuous than action/adventure and violence!' since they confuse personal likes for quality, and also they've only ever seen low quality of these things they dislike.
The MCU is bad and contains a lot of action scenes and car chases or whatever, so some people think, well that means action scenes and car chases are bad, but that's not an inherent quality. The MCU is bad due to execution and being written so 10 year olds can enjoy it.
Honestly the issue with mainstream media isn't generally that they contain car chases, it's that they're focus-grouped to death to appeal to the largest number of people possible, which means they have to be written/directed so very small children will find them exciting.
I don't think it's controversial to suggest that works that have been designed to appeal to small children are not going to have room for a lot of intelligent nuance or subtlety, because every minute has to keep the small child's attention.
Kamen Rider makes no pretense to being deep and I don't think any fan will tell you these shows aren't made for children; they're loud and goofy and scene cuts are incredibly nonsensical. They're designed to keep children's attention. The belts talk because they want to sell toys
Fans of Disney products are quite incensed though if you point out their favorite things are pretty clearly designed to interest children.
