November 19th is International Men’s Day: a thread
Men receive full custody of their children following divorce in only 10% of cases, and have a nationwide average roughly 35% custody when time is split.

Men comprise 70% of the homeless population in the USA as of 2018 and 90% of incarcerated individuals as of 2015 are men.
79% of suicide victims in 2017 were male, with men killing themselves over 3.5 times as much as women.

Men also abuse illicit drugs & alcohol at nearly double the rate that women do, with roughly 11.5% of men over the age of 12 dealing with substance abuse in some form.
These are the top of the iceberg and look only at the symptom, not the disease. Men, today’s as good a day as any to take a step to get any help you might need. Reach out to a loved one or a professional, there are people that love and care about you and want the best for you.
Men, just like women, are disproportionately affected by numerous issues in our society, and “man up” won’t solve any of them. Men, reach out to someone, to each other. Start a dialogue today. #InternationalMensDay
