Should you use Astrology for your personal relationships?

After an interesting conversation I had with a friend today, I thought I would share some interesting points from this conversation because I see this with divination a lot, but also in Astrology a lot too.
One thing thats interesting to talk about is whether it is ethical to use Astrology for your personal relationships, because you’re an Astrologer, but that person is also has a deep emotional attachment to you, to the point where you are invested in their lives?
Now while Astrology can be great for gaining perspective on a person, its not ethical to utilize their chart as a shortcut for understanding them rather than actually taking the time to understand them for who they are based off of what THEY are telling you.
I think as Astrologers and Astrology enthusiast, we tend to get so invested in speaking the language of Astrology, that we actually forget to speak to others in our language. Astrology is a language that transcends all languages and we have to recognize: not everyone speaks it
And because there is a language barrier, we need to look at, interact, and talk to people in our personal relationships the same way we look at person speaking English to someone who speaks only Spanish. We have to find a way to communicate that both parties understand
And because Astrology requires effort, time, and brainpower to study, we have to be cognizant that not everyone has the time or the energy to learn astrology. And we have to be okay with that and cannot force them to adapt to our needs and speak our language.
It can often be difficult to form friends outside of those who speak Astrology, because we can get so complacent in speaking a language, in which has so much perspective on life, with others that we prefer speaking in. And with this comes consent with reading into
charts of family, friends, and loved ones. Yes there are ethics. You hold power of that persons chart in your hands, and it might be better to work to understand that person in the language theyre speaking to you in, rather than using Astrology as a shortcut.
Now does this mean you cant look at these people’s charts? Of course not. But if you need to rely on a persons chart to understand them, should you really be reading that persons chart in the first place? Probably not. You should be trying to understand that person.
We get placed in positions of power as Astrologers, and practically play God, and for some: it can go to their head. Using Astrology with integrity and knowing when to use it, as a divination tool, since thats what it is, is important for
building real connections with real people, and for also giving yourself time to relax as an Astrologer. You do not need to divine everyday and know everything everyday. Ignorance can actually be healthy in moderation. But we cant conflate ignorance with moral dissonance.
You also get to build a better relationship with Astrology by not allowing it to be part of your whole life. You can connect with reality more, and its why some spiritualist, tarot card, readers, and Astrologers can quite literally lose their minds.
They’re too connected with the divine and not in touch with whats happening in reality. What people are really feeling. What people are thinking. And where people’s heads are at.
The point of Astrology and any divinatory tool should not be to replace your understanding of reality, but to enhance it. And with everything: it must be done in moderation.
