A smal thread on Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple Toravi Vijayapura.

Names in different periods.
Ancient : Twaritalaya
Middle : Navlaakhpur.
Now : Toravi.
It's served capital to sultanate for some time.

This temple was considered to be built during kalyani chalukya time .
This temple doesn't have shikhara.
To transfer murthi from garbhgriha to Narasimha theertha during invasion there is a underground route where only one person can walk.

Some points about Murthi.
It's a shaligrama shila Narasimha sitting on garuda with hiranya Kashyap on his lap remove his intestine.
It's 8 shouldered murthi.
On the right of murthy is Lakshmi Devi .
On the left is Prahalad .
Murthi consists of dashavatar sculptures

Narasimha theertha :
The archak of temple shud take bath here and with the water of theertha shud make Abhishek to murthi.
It's considered ,there is a gupta Ganga in this theertha.
During Kanyagatha (Jupiter in Virgo). We can witness change in the volume of water.

Every year from Vaishaka shudha Ashtami the celebration starts for Narashima jayanti upto Vaishaka badhya Pratipada.
