I'm still ironing out the kinks, and I need to give element of magic its name, But I think I got it overall.
Every sentient race in Coco the Rabbit has a superpower that manifests around puberty, which they are stuck with for the rest of their life.
However, even if you are stuck with weak power, or dislike your strong power you can still supplement it with magic. Magic can be used to replicate superpowers at a weaker state. However, what superpower you have plays a role in what kind of magic you are good at.
For example, if you are someone who has fire powers, you will struggle with plant-related powers and water powers, and have a knack for heat-related powers.
That being said let's discuss Memoir crystals, and memoirs.
Memoir crystals are the crystals formed shortly after the death of a person in Coco the Rabbit's universe. It is made up of a person's soul and power. After the person's soul is released by a priest or a nun of the Void God, the crystal can be used to make a Memoir.
Any non-living object can be used to make a Memoir, including but not limited to dolls, rocks, and jewelry.
As of right now, I am not sure about the specifics of the memoir production. However, I do know that memoirs are used as family heirlooms, especially in richer families that are descended from the gods. Poorer families on the other hand may need to sell their memoirs to get 1/2
money to survive. As a rule of thumb, the more powerful a memoir is, the higher of a price it will have.
So what do memoirs do? Well I haven't decided yet. One option I have is that they are like magical girl trinkets in where the user transforms into a magical girl and gets the power that the memoir has. The other is that each memoir is an original magical trinket that has
completely different rule sets. Which one do you think you prefer?
Lastly, I would like to discuss Void. Void is a natural part of every sentient person's body, and it is meant to serve as natural protection against the user's own powers. However, if the user overexerts themselves with their powers void production will go into overdrive.
One of the most extreme symptoms of overexertion is void pouring out of the offices of the victim. While void appears black when that happens it's actually colorless, the black appearance is because of its reaction to blood and mucus.
I'm still dealing with the story elements on this part, so I don't really want to discuss it further.
So what do you all think? Do you have any suggestions for real names for "superpowers" and "magic?" I'm really struggling to come up with good names for them lol.
