2) It was raised that the Minister has parliamentary privilege (complete immunity from prosecution or civil liability for any statements in House). In other words, the Minister is able to table the report or speak about its contents without fear of legal liability. #peipoli
I don't doubt the Minister wants to release the report; he's said that many times! But there were/are numerous avenues available to make info public in a timely manner but they've been repeatedly dismissed.

Also, if you want to know how backed up the Info Commissioner's office is... I opened a review file in Jan. My latest letter said not to expect a decision before the winter. Their office already has a lot on their plate—this kind of unnecessary referral doesn't help.
