One interesting thing I've learned already from my hypnotherapy classes is that the subconscious brain takes in info from the conscious brain WITHOUT QUESTION

This might seem pretty benign, but is extremely important for anyone who competes or wants to improve
Your subconscious brain is where most of your action while playing comes from, especially in such a snap reaction based game that moves as quickly as smash

If you are feeding it the wrong info, even things that you KNOW isn't true, you're leading yourself down a dangerous path
An example of this would be saying "Why is that move unpunishable?" in a time of frustration

While it may feel good to absolve yourself of responsibility on how to deal with a move, your subconscious doesn't question, and will eventually believe that move is ACTUALLY unpunishable
Another more insidious area where this can occur is actually BEFORE the game, when you see who you have to play next

If your first reaction is "Damn, I don't think I can beat them," your subconscious mind will believe that 100%, and make decisions that align with that belief
It's a little bit abstract to put into words but our conscious mind DOES have power over our subconscious mind, and people often forget or misuse that

If you have any questions, feel free to put them here, I'd love to discuss anything with people interested in learning more
I understand a lot of this is strange to comprehend so if you take nothing else from this, take this:

Mindset does matter, negative self-talk tends to be self fulfilling, and positive self-talk WILL lead to positive outcomes, or at least help move towards them
