I’m taking a religion and pop culture class. Every week, we have to watch a movie and then we talk about the affect it had on society at the time. It sounded interesting, and the lectures and supplemental materials are fascinating, but I’ve hated every movie we’ve had to watch.
The movies:
The Jazz Singer (The original. Meh.)
The Blues Brothers (Most boring 2 hours of my life)
The Godfather (I’ve attempted to watch that damned thing at least 30 times in my life. I’m still unsuccessful, it bores me to tears).

The Apostle (Robert Duvall was superb, it’s the only movie I’ve liked this entire semester).
Coming up:
The Last Temptation of Christ (I remember the hoopla, never saw it).
Malcolm X (LOVED that movie).
Kumara (Never heard of it until this class, looking forward to it).

I just realized I wrote affect instead of effect so you can just smack me now and tell me to walk away from the word things tonight.
