In Puerto Rico, under the US rule, an attack on democratic processes is being orchestrated by the ruling party, the ones who allowed people to die after the Hurricane. The same party whose governor was ousted. 1/Many
Note, I was a member of this party until 2018, and it sickens me what they are doing. When I saw how little they care about the people, and about lining their pockets I left. But back to the matter at hand. 3/Many
Two seats being contested: Mayor of San Juan between @manuelnatal and @miguel_romero_ and Puerto Rico's San Juan precinct in the where @evapradospr got ahead to later being reversed by the addition of "at home votes" and "absentee ballots". Both from @VictoriaPorPR! 4/Many
There seems to be a lot of unchecked activity by the @pnp_pr and their political operatives: @mundoef and @leodiazurbina - both are old political figures who are quite famous for supporting a riot at the Puerto Rico Women's Ombudsperson Office. 5/Many
Tensions are rising to the point there has been physical aggression. 6/Many https://twitter.com/felipegomez1960/status/1329199285515276294
If this were to happen at any other Latin American country the US would be calling @Almagro_OEA2015 or the Organization of American States @OAS_official to intervene. But this is happening under US watch and you guys simply don't care. 7/Many
The minimum an action like this would require is an official inquiry, the rest is up to speculation. Just to tell you guys that if you are the beacons of Democracy around the world, you should also do it in you backyard. Ciao! 8/8
