My clients @MarieTyvoll and @capergerl filed a lawsuit earlier this year to get at public records held by Southwest Neighborhoods, Inc. (SWNI).

When they started trying to get financial records they were both board members trying to fulfill their fiduciary duties.
My clients wanted records they believed would help show financial mismanagement of public money (80%+ of SWNI's budget).

SWNI believes it is not a public body and should be exempt from the public records act. We disagree and we are looking forward to the court's answer.
It turns out, @capergerl and @MarieTyvoll were absolutely right to want to dig in. Through pressure from @comm_civic_life, SWNI submitted to a forensic audit.
