#ICYMI: The govt's newly formed race commission is calling for evidence from the public to better understand why racial disparities thrive in Britain.
This was quietly published on 26 Oct and has not been promoted on verified govt Twitter platforms. https://www.gov.uk/government/consultations/ethnic-disparities-and-inequality-in-the-uk-call-for-evidence/ethnic-disparities-and-inequality-in-the-uk-call-for-evidence

No explanation on what the hush hush is about but when I find out I'll pass on word. In the meantime, be advised:
– There are 10 very vague qs that folks are expected to answer about racism in the UK.
– The qs are also very broad.
– Deadline is days away (30 November).

The talk on the street is that the government has deliberately not promoted this call for evidence or put much effort into the questions...because the commission isn't actually serious about tackling racial disparity. That's what I've heard. https://www.gov.uk/government/consultations/ethnic-disparities-and-inequality-in-the-uk-call-for-evidence/ethnic-disparities-and-inequality-in-the-uk-call-for-evidence
This, frankly, sneaky behaviour only exacerbates existing concerns about the race commission....which already stands accused of not having the confidence of those it purports to help (Black people who understand that racism is a problem in Britain).
