It’s PS5-Eve! I’ve been thinking about the last 6 years of PS4, some of my all time favourite games have made it such a memorable console generation.
In no particular order, here’s the games that I’ve enjoyed the most on PS4:

Infamous: Second Son
Probably the first game that properly made me excited about the step up from PS3 to PS4. Underrated entry in that series I think too.

Titanfall 2
Surely ‘The Wire’ of FPS campaigns. It’s hard to overstate just how great the hours you spend in Titanfall 2’s campaign are and I’m sure everyone is sick of people like me not shutting up about it.

Ratchet and Clank
Of the series that made it over from previous generations, I definitely wish we had gotten more games from these two on PS4. Even if this is ‘just’ a remake, it’s one of the best overall R&C experiences.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
A messy game, that manages to overcome the issues through a sheer will to be the ultimate MGS experience. The series has never felt as good as this.

Horizon Zero Dawn
A shining gem of a new IP for PS4, Aloy is surely the most interesting new ‘Sony Mascot’ since Nathan Drake turned up. An open world game I genuinely wanted to explore.

Jurassic World Evolution
I don’t think I’ll soon forget the few weeks that me and David were OBSESSED with this game earlier in 2020. Works so much better on console than you’d ever expect too.

Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor
Without doubt the best LOTR game ever made. Though that’s hardly saying much is it?

Rocket League
Absolutely genius. We will be talking about Rocket League decades from now. Literally better than actual football.

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy
The PS4’s best Uncharted game is the one that captures the same sense of adventure and lovable characters as Uncharted 2. Shorter games are no bad thing!

Peggle 2
Me and David both have the Platinum Trophy in Peggle 2. We have played the level in the picture more than probably anything else on PS4.

Persona 5
I still have NOT played through P5Royal yet, but either version is the most stylish game on PS4. It’s waaaayyyy too long, but it’s still a brilliant RPG.

Death Stranding
‘Welcome back Sam Porter Bridges’ are words I long to hear after a long journey. I’m still finding myself asking questions about what the hell was going on in this baffling game, but I absolutely loved it. Just about edges it as Kojima’s best game of PS4.

Yakuza Kiwami 2
So much more than a remake of my favourite Yakuza game, this is the best example of the magic that Ryu Go Gototku Studio can create.

Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age
Yes this is a PS2 game, but like the Yakuza game before it, this is by far the best way to experience one of the greatest RPGs of all time.

Rise of the Tomb Raider
The Tomb Raider trilogy had some highs and some lows, with Rise standing way at the top as my favourite Lara Croft game yet. Full of adventure and actual tombs to raid!
