okay im too lazy to make a big call-out post or something, but it needs to be said
my Me And Him Call It Us "boxset" came in the mail today
and while the vinyl is very nice and i like the artwork and booklet (and the music of course)
the packaging is HORRENDOUS

wax vessel really hyped this up like it was gonna be their magnum opus, but they couldn't be bothered to put the vinyl in something sturdy enough. the double gatefold feels so flimsy and feels like the spine is gonna tear under the weight of the records & booklet.

together, the 3 lps and booklet weigh quite a bit, so why they chose to put this in a fragile double gatefold instead of, y'know, packaging that's used for standard boxsets (ex: The Smith's The Queen is Dead boxset, which is fantastic) is beyond me.

for a $100+ price tag, you'd really think they'd make something that feels like it won't fall apart and is like ACTUALLY worth the money, but nope, they just didn't bother. This is like a $40 kind of thing, not something worthy of triple digits.

also, don't even get me started on how wax vessel handles their music. they just get the rights to the music. not just licensing. ALL OF THE RIGHTS. just unbelievably scummy. this is how they get away with being the only label allowed to press the albums on vinyl.

they press something once, and it never gets pressed ever again because they fucking own the rights to someone else's music.
none of this is MAHCIU's fault. this is wax vessel just being a shitty label. i'm not buying from them ever again, and i recommend you don't either.
