Indoor dining is being prohibited in Kentucky, Gov. Andy Beshear says. They are establishing a $40 million fund to assist restaurants and bars impacted by this measure.
Private gatherings are also being limited. Beshear says you should only have one other immediate family to your house at a time.
Public and private schools in Kentucky must cease in person schooling Nov. 23. High school students will remain out of in-person school until the new year. Elementary can go earlier if the county is not in the red zone.
Beshear said he knows this will cause some harm but they have to do something to mitigate the harm of what he is calling the third wave of COVID-19. He says they owe it to seniors and others.
"If you leave your harm, you are assured to be at a high risk of getting COVID," says Kentucky public health commissioner Steven Stack.
Stack gets emotional, saying there are no more easy answers.
