Don't do this, and let me explain why.

I work with the north node and south node extensively, to the point where my clients have asked for follow up readings specific to the nodes 😊 I've done a lot of myth busting related to them.

As a beginner, I started off with Jan Spiller's "Astrology for the Soul" and Martin Schulman's "Karmic Astrology".

I prefer Spiller's work but I noticed that practically, in my life, I had leaned hard into my north node, but felt exhausted and burnt out.

Astrology for the Soul helped me understand certain things about my past, my roots, but also had a harsh and judgmental tone towards "what I was supposed to leave behind". I remixed it when doing consults because I knew, intuitively, that it wasn't "quite there".

I discovered traditional astrology & confirmed what I already knew, that these points need INTEGRATION if they are something you'd like to work with.

In Vedic astrology, the North Node is "Rahu" & the South Node is "Ketu". The head of the dragon & the tail of the dragon.

Rahu, the head of the dragon, is like a rush of energy moving forward. It's like a wind tunnel blowing you in a direction.

Ketu, the tail of the dragon, is like the energy being sucked out. Like something being flushed down a drain.

Transits squaring the nodes can indicate a critical situation relating to that planet.

It's helpful for me, in a natal consultation, to frame them as character traits you've inherited (SN), and the character traits you're building (NN).

You need both. You need your strengths to prop you up as you move forward. You need challenging experiences so you don't sink into ennui.

Working only with the north node will leave you feeling trapped, unable to escape expectations.

Working only with the south node will also leave you feeling trapped, but more in a "same shit, different day" kind of way.

With integration, you can move in and out of these energies, creating a cycle of moving forward and then restoring.

So you'd want a break from that! It's hard work! Don't get that shit tattooed on you (at least don't get a glyph tattooed on you with that intention).

This is coming from someone with an astro tattoo that I love *very* much.
