#PMImranKhan will be in Kabul today on Ghani's Invitation.

AG wants Pak to help him secure more favorable terms in the Intra-Afghan talks & a ceasefire, as the battlefield shifts in IEA's favor every year.

Pakistan, has demands of its own & its list.... is longer..
Its recent exposé clearly marks out #Pakistan's goals.

A complete end to Delhi's role in post-war Afghanistan.
An End to Kabul's 50s era policy of cross border attacks.
An End to Kabul's 40s era irredentist politics & policies.
An end to Kabul's undermining of border management.
These are some of Pakistan's main strategic concerns. Secondary demands are countless.

Then comes the issue of can Ashraf Ghani, who cant even dismiss governors, be trusted to deliver on his end of any bargain? Can he leash RAW/NDS, ISK/TTP/BLA, Saleh, without them biting back?
Then comes the validity of any understanding or agreement with the current Kabul regime, AFTER the permanent peace deal. Will Taliban or hybrid Taliban-regime govt honour it?

Hence, Ashraf Ghani has not much to offer #PMImranKhan other than few short-term concessions which....
.. will not satisfy any of #Pakistan's main strategic concerns. And in turn, he isnt going to be offered much breathing room on the negotiations table in Doha.

Don't have high hopes for tomorrow. PMIK - POTUS meeting is where a meaningful entente can be reached over Afghanistan.
