🧵: My wife is an RN in a suburban ER. Her last shift where there wasn’t a “red surge” (critically understaffed) was months ago. That wasn’t the case in March, it wasn’t the case this summer, it is now. She’s worked there for 5 years. Never once have they needed to call in (1/4)
Doctors for being understaffed. That now happens.

COVID sucks, masks suck, politics suck. What’s reality is that a pandemic doesn’t care how much things suck.

It’s not about whether you I or get sick. It’s about the 10 people we infect, and in turn force @GovTimWalz to (2/4)
Make these decisions that everyone wants to rail on him for.

I don’t know anything about politics, but I know that if an immediate but drastic action makes a real impact, I’m willing to sacrifice short term comfort for long term gain.

We’re here because we wouldn’t make (3/4)
That concession however many months ago.

A vaccine is great, but it’s only piece of the puzzle. It’s not going to be an immediate fix, and the most widespread opportunity to return to normal resides in each of us.
