thinking about how RQ's stories tend to treat/think of character deaths in terms of stories, and the tragic component of whether a story got to play out completely/satisfactorily or not
from jonny's comment about enjoying a good death as a good character/story moment, to Lydia's recent distraught "there was so much story in that little body!!!" in RQG, to the Archivist pointing out he's been so sad about Helen Richardson bc he never *got* to know her (story)
Ben also seems (and iirc, has stated) to consider PCs as vehicle for their stories, and not to mind if one of his PC dies so long at it all made for a cool story, and indeed all the PC's "endings" in RQG have been very satisfying and about tying up "the story" of those characters
(and i *freaking love it* and i'm so, so excited about the current RQG mini-arc and fully trusting that no matter what happens it's going to feel satisfactory, even if possibly SUPER SAD, and personally I'm 99,99% likely to effing love it.)
