After @JasonNixonAB's embarrassing My Parks Will Goon "consultation" last night, it's a good time to look back at UCP attempts to close down and sell off our parks. And to mislead Albertans.

Earlier this year, the UCP decided to close or partly close 20 parks, with another 164 to be "partnered" (i.e., privatized).

Ever since then, the UCP have done everything to mislead Albertans about their intentions. They've lied, they've obscured, they've played word games.

Meanwhile, the UCP moved ahead with another act of environmental vandalism: repealing decades-old bans on open-pit mining in the Rockies.

Now UCP MLAs say things like "public lands remain accessible" but don't say whether they will remain legally protected under AB's parks legislation.
