Let’s talk about eggs for a second:
The color of the egg is dependent on the chickens pigmentation and breed. As you can see, our chickens produce various shades of brown eggs, and we do have a breed that lays green/blue eggs. We have no breeds that have a white ear pigmentation, and therefore have no white eggs
Brown eggs aren’t bleached to become white, there are naturally white egg laying breeds that are used for egg production, like Leghorns! If you notice, you’ll see stains on some of eggs from feces, so yes, eggs will be cleaned and treated to remove these stains, but not bleached
These eggs have been scrubbed and cleaned, but obviously a consumer won’t want a stained egg, thus the cleaning. ALSO-Hormones have been illegal to use since sometimes in the 60’s in the poultry industry so all poultry items are hormone free regardless of what their label says!
Feel free to add more! I always find it interesting at how little people know of the poultry products that they buy, and think it’s something we should be educating more on so THERES less misinformation
Auto got excited on ‘there’s’ huh
