Bit of advice: if you have #deaf students in your educational institution - give them an opportunity to meet with staff & have a good in-depth discussion. Listen to them. Having a meeting in this way empowers them & also helps you as an institution. Communication is key!! (1/3)

Have just had a really productive online meeting with some #deaf students within my institution & it was a real eye opener to hear their experiences of studying at the University. So important for them to be able to tell us what works for them, what doesn’t work for them. (2/3)

They said at the end “thank you for organising this, I’ve never had a meeting with other deaf students since joining & this has been really useful”. So give your students some time to have an open chat in a safe space where everyone can share their experiences & thoughts. (3/3)
