I wasn't gonna actually say something about this take but I couldn't help myself when it involves SS fans ( a.k.a me). So sit back, get your snacks and let's dive into Why Dceased Damian's character is Not ooc ^^
Now when we are talking about Dceased Damian, let's keep in mind that he lost 80% of his family including his brother who had been giving him the much needed emotional support and his father. He was alone with the Kents until Alfred showed up.+
He didn't get a chance to properly mourn his family in the middle of anti-life apocalypse, not to mention the deaths didn't stop and he even witnessed Metropolis explode because of Atom's destruction. It's not easy to handle them when they keep reminding you of the tragic event.+
You can't expect him to act like nothing happened and be his usual bratty self when he is traumatized. His overly emotional state doesn't make him ooc, that makes him human and that's how it should be in such dark bloody story.
He was terrified that the last batfam member he was gonna see would be killed in the first panel. His last hope of Batman's survival was shattered after Alfred showed him what was inside the case, you can see how it affected him in the second panel's last moment if you look closely
Damian didn't want to wear the bat suit, not because of the burden but because to him, that meant accepting that his father was truly gone with others.. Thankfully with Superman's hope and courage, Damian was able to overcome that feeling and accept it.
He still doubts his abilities when it comes to living up to the legacy but he sure is already becoming a better batman by not only keeping the code but also doing the things which batman didn't much which is being affectionate towards his family.
He undergone therapy within 5 years to get his emotional state better which is why he is more brighter than usual. I'm not an expert on this subject but I think going to therapy can make some difference within years. This also doesn't mean he is ooc, this is what's called Growth.
I don't think that Damian can be ooc in comics. He is a complex character and each writer has the right to explore any side of him (emotional, bratty, serious, confident, fun, childlike) as long they respect his ethnics and don't regress him. ( I am looking at Teen Titans).+
That also means fans can choose what kind of Damian stories they enjoy the most. I'm personally into more emotional stories and that's why I love Dceased so much but I also love different concepts as well.+ That's why Damian is so interesting to me with his complexity.
LMFAO You think that SS fans are that desperate to accept anything after the series ended? I can assure you we sure as hell don't accept Bendis's super sons, the one with Ian and teen titans super sons. I personally support what's enjoyable and greatly written.+
Dceased Super Sons is exactly what kind of a story some of us wanted. Also, fans don't really support the relationship between Damian and Cassie much and it's also not the reason why they are supporting the book even if they do.
Who said he is the " only real Damian?" He sure is better than teen titans but there are other comics which portrays him correctly. Damian being affectionate doesn't make him "Fanon Dick Grayson",as I said, he went to therapy plus he got emotional from other heroes within 5 years
Funny how a Damira* fan is saying all those words while AW Damian was very similar to Dead Planet version of Damian with being affectionate.
Anyways I'm done here, thank you for reading.
