Great thread! And just some reminders:

1) Agented writers are not above un-agented writers. They're at a different step in their career.

Editing takes work.

It means both zooming out to see the big picture and the pieces of the story, but also zooming in to see how we move and shift things around to reach a satisfying and engaging story.
You can be amazing at taking notes from other people and hitting things like story beats, character arcs, and engaging plots, but it doesn't mean by default you're able to edit someone else's work.
The opposite is also true.

You can be a fantastic editor but not the best writer. You can understand everything about the craft of a story, but have no idea how to get any of that onto a page.
All of this to say: don't automatically exclude someone from reviewing your work because of a milestone that you feel is superior.

It's a rather elitist move and you might be shooting yourself in the foot.
