After pitching several stories, I've come to know that most news outlets are partisan organizations. They typically discuss Native American or Chicano issues only if it helps an overarching agenda. Typically to exacerbate loss, poverty, & violence narratives.

Mind you, I don't believe it's malicious. Their political and multinational corporate patrons simply prefer sensationalist pieces.

After the election season, Native & Hispano topics disappear from the media lens. This stems from their desire to play up suffering for political gain.
Most rejections for indigenous topics come after the election. Which only serves to belittle communities.

I implore editors to consider perspectives of Native Americans, Hispano, Creole, Pacific Islander, & other writers.
As someone who's made tough editorial calls before, I respect the issues.
