Just 30 races into his premier class career, @JoanMirOfficial has been crowned #MotoGP World Champion 🏆

Mir's incredible Championship-winning season in a thread 👇

2020 certainly didn't start the way Joan wanted it to 💥

A DNF in the first race at the Jerez was far from ideal. But an equal best #MotoGP result of 5th a week later at least showed some positives after the first two rounds 👀

Unfortunately, Mir's Championship run met a further setback 💥

A racing incident with Lecuona saw Mir finish the 3rd race of the season at Brno with just 11 points next to his name 😮

To put that into perspective...

After Round 3, Mir was already 48 points behind Championship leader Quartararo 👀

Time to go to work 👊
Premier class podium #1! 🥈

A sensational 2nd place at the #AustrianGP was what started it all for Mir! 🙌

It was great to see @jackmilleraus congratulate Mir after the pair had swapped places on the final lap! 🤝

#MotoGP
A week later and it looked as though Mir was set to go one better! 📈

But it wasn't to be as the red flag came out while he was clear at the front! 😢

A restarted race ended in 4th place for Mir and visible disappointment of what could have been ✨

But it was this race that showed the world what was to come! 💪

Then the results started to come! 😎

3rd in the #SanMarinoGP, 2nd in the #EmiliaRomagnaGP and 2nd in the #CatalanGP! 🏆

Mir and Suzuki had hit their stride! 💨
But in Le Mans, the weather had other ideas! 👀

For the first time since 2018, #MotoGP would face a wet race! 🌧️

It was doubly difficult for Mir, who had never raced a premier class machine in the wet! ⚠️
After leaping the hurdle of Le Mans to finish 11th, Mir was back on track in Aragon! 👏

Another podium and the lead of the World Championship! 📈

The first Suzuki rider to head the points for 20 years! 💙
The #AlcanizGP would follow and as Championship pressure built, Mir kept his cool 😎

After another podium, the 23-year-old headed to Valencia with a 14 point lead! 🔝
FINALLY, he had done it! 🙌

After standing on the podium six times previously, Mir was a #MotoGP winner! 🏆
One #MatchPoint was all Mir needed to wrap up the 2020 title! 🏁

7th place across the line but #1 in 2020! 🏆

#M1R
With the #MotoGP trophy in hand, Mir heads to Portimao with the pressure off his shoulders! 😅

Incredible speed and consistency have been the key for Mir, a thoroughly deserving Champion in the craziest of seasons! 👏
