Imagine it is 1982 and we are at war with the USSR. If you didn't follow the advice of "Protect and Survive" and 'stay at home' you would be labelled as a subversive (arrested) and a danger to yourself and others. #lockdown
At the time that advice was perfectly logical only if you saw it from the UK Government perspective. It was geopolitical (so the USSR did not think we planned a first strike), military (keep roads free for army traffic) and for economy / social control (keep workplaces going)
From an individual perspective it is rational to flee cities (in fact, the Government knew people would do this in a behavioural science report in 1982 and thought about how to prevent it). https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.1080/0046760X.2014.979253
That's why I am not keen on calling people who break lockdown conspiracy theorists, 'COVIDIOTS' or dangerous. The reasons often make sense in terms of an individual assessment and the arguments against often arise from a 'state logic'.
