1st shot is from Gintoki pov . It's not clean and kind of hazy showing how much Gintoki wants to forget his past. 2nd shot is from SA arc being a flashback from Takasugi pov, it's clear but with darkness surrounding it's corners showing Sugi still remember everything

Gintoki is looking away from his master head shows he still hadn't accepted the truth and just want to forget this memory. Simply he wants to run away from this hell and go as far as he can while waiting for his own end. He might have died if he wasn't destined to meet Otose
