I think the left lowers the bar for itself by entertaining discussions about our future as contingent on whims of Labour party, which patronises workers to draw from our pool of organising power at election time, but otherwise treats us as a naive irritation. We're worth more !
Realistically, how much time and energy do you have to pour into recapturing the Labour party to make it not just a party for the worker, but one that can recapture the enthusiasm of those disenchanted with it ? Not to mention for education programs & organising training ?
Personally, in Britain, I don't consider party politics compatible w/ building class power in any real sense bc we've so much foundational work to do around e.g. education, our resources as a movement *even in broadest sense* just won't cover both, we'll burn out into obscurity
