Part of the magic of #COVIDzero is already happening. We’re having a discussion about what it would take to decisively turn this pandemic around. Step one is to figure out what the national, provincial, and local barriers to control are. (1/)

Step two is to figure out what interventions are needed to overcome those barriers. Step three- and this is key- is to figure out what the pain points are when those interventions are introduced. This is where economic and equity lenses are critical. (2/)

How can we make sure your business can run safely or how can we compensate you for the costs of closure? How can we make sure that BIPOC, those vulnerably housed, those with mental illness or other illnesses, the elderly, those with disabilities, and our kids are supported? (3/)

Moreover, how can we foster hope and joy through this process? How can we build a sense of collective pride in what we’re able to do when we put our minds to it? We can get through a lot, if we do it together. (4/)

The point of a moonshot strategy is to make the goal clear. The barriers to achieving that goal come into relief, and we are able to come together with technical, scientific, and social innovations to solve them.

We are clear-eyed on this. We can do this.
