My friend had an emergency protection order against her ex for stalking and threatening behavior.
They had a court call a few weeks ago for a restraining order. He got on the call, cussed everyone out, and had to be muted.

Before court happened, the EPO ran out.
They had court this week. Ex didn't show. They moved the hearing to FEBRUARY.
So now, she has no EPO and no restraining order to PROTECT her or her kids from this asshole.

She called Victims Services and they said that they couldn't help. They told her the court deals with crimes that have happened, not what may happen.
Now she's got to wait for him show up at her house again or start threatening/stalking her again BEFORE she can get help. /3

This is ridiculous. She is trying to protect herself and her kids from this mentally and emotionally abusive monster. He hasn't been violent yet, but that doesn't mean he won't be.

PS: We're doubtful anything can actually be done, but this is our plea incase someone knows something. She's just trying to get out of the cycle.
