things a cafe can do to be more accessible: a thread 🧵

- ramp or step free entry

- wheelchair accessible toilets

- willingness to provide table service

- large print menus & Braille menus

- willingness to read menus aloud

- if you must have music, have it at low volume
- willingness to take both cash & card payments (outside of covid obvs)

- having common allergens listed clearly on regular menus, & having a menu that lists *every single* ingredient in your dishes

- good hygiene practice to limit cross contamination

- non dairy alternatives
- have staff learn the relevant country’s basic sign language for greetings & drinks

- toilets that ANYONE can use

- provide sanitary products for people who menstruate

- actively welcome breast feeding parents

- have a magnifying glass for menus etc

- label with Braille
