For years, right up until present day, Republicans have repeated the talking point that “Democrats refused to accept the results of the 2016 election”. This is a lie. Here’s a short thread of Dem reactions to Trump’s victory.
This is the moment CNN called the election for Trump at 2:47 am. Right across the screen it reads “Clinton calls Trump to concede election.”
Clinton gave a concession speech later that afternoon. Here’s the first minute where she immediately acknowledges she called Trump to congratulate him.
Here’s President Obama saying he will do everything he can to help Trump and begin immediate work on the transition.
Here’s a statement from Nancy Pelosi congratulating Trump and praying for his success. https://www.speaker.gov/newsroom/pelosi-statement-on-2016-election
Here’s Chuck Schumer talking about his congratulatory call with Trump that morning. https://www.facebook.com/15771239406/posts/10154736547704407/?d=n

So no, Dems didn’t refuse to accept the results of Trump’s election. What they did later on - after the Inauguration - was *protest* Trump’s election. There’s a big difference. As @iamjohnoliver says, “not my President” is way different than “not THE President”.
