Why does anyone think this is a good idea?

What world are Labour MSPs living in. Most people in Scotland now support independence. Most people support a referendum.

Why on earth do they constantly go on about an issue that loses us support and that we have no control over? https://twitter.com/paulhutcheon/status/1329019036588527618
If I was going to design a losing strategy for the Scottish Labour Party it would be this.

To use the same negative message that we have used since 2014, that has driven us from the most popular party in Scotland to the 3rd most popular and that practically no one is excited by.
If I was Scottish Labour leader I would fine every elected member a week's wages every time they spoke about independence/independence referendums.
I honestly think there must be people who do not have any friends outside of the Scottish Labour bubble.

The idea that this is a winning strategy is completely removed from any sense of reality.

Who on earth thinks that no having a referendum on something is a winner?
