The reasons why I'm sceptical about sacking Ardley is firstly, who do we get bearing in mind that given the lack of money in football (due to the pandemic) the owners wouldn't want (and quite rightly) to pay compensation to a club to get another manager. #Notts
Then we have to consider that a new manager will want his own players, so this season would then just be about allowing him to consolidate and push for promotion next season. Then when we're mid-table this time next season do we sack him and repeat the process? #Notts
I remember last season we didn't push on until after Christmas so that could happen again this year (but ideally before). The same people who wanted Ardley sacking this time last year want him sacking again for a similar start. #Notts
It's my belief that had the season not been cut short we would've probably ended up with promotion given the momentum generated. Plus you could argue this season that we've only lost one game with a fully fit squad as the other two losses illness impacted the team. #Notts
I could understand the people who want Ardley sacked point of view more if we'd played constantly over the last month and lost all 6/7 games in a month but we've only played twice and it's been stop start. Obviously other clubs have been impacted too but maybe not as much. #Notts
Whatever decision the owners make I trust as it's their money and they come across as very astute people. From my point of view the strategy of sacking the manager early on in the season is why we dropped from League 1 to the National League. #Notts
