We use #MiPet for our two dogs - produced by @Bayer. I’ve never ever (naively) linked the #flea treatment to #insecticides which I’m trying to avoid everywhere else in my life. One of the active substances in #MiPet is #imidacloprid...
... #imidacloprid is still one of the most widely used #insecticides in the world. #imidacloprid is part of a group called #neonicotinoides and is highly toxic on an ACUTE basis to aquatic invertebrates, moderately toxic to birds and one of the most #toxic chemicals to #bees
In 2018, after what I can only imagine, a long fight, #EU decided to ban the three main #neonicotinoides from ALL outdoor uses. We’re at the end of 2020 and #MiPet and other flea treatments are still making @Bayer, CEO Werner Bauman and others money...
...at the dire expense of our natural world - and us all. Since it’s development 30years ago @Bayer must have heaps of data demonstrating its #toxicity & adverse impact, yet along with others, is continuing its sale ... all the while our natural world is collapsing around us.
