Some thoughts on that 10 Point Plan.
It's a strong statement, with eye-catching policies & spending commitments.
But there's lots unsaid. Is it actually a plan? How will it be delivered? What about local govt? Citizen engagement? Coal, oil & gas?

There's no detail on whether it will be enough to meet carbon budgets - but luckily the ever-reliable @DrSimEvans has done the sums on that ALREADY. Did he sleep?
I'm more focussed, though, on how all this (and more) can be delivered. 2/6 https://twitter.com/DrSimEvans/status/1328827777462702081

First, net-zero is a huge governance task. Will local govt be given the powers, responsibilities & resources they need? Will other govt depts be given formal responsibility?
@instituteforgov report is essential reading on this 3/6 https://www.instituteforgovernment.org.uk/publications/net-zero

Second, what is the govt's strategy for engaging people, & getting us all involved in plans for net-zero?
The Climate Assembly @NetZeroUK was v clear about the need for this - & for fairness to be front & centre. Worth comparing against their reccs. 4/6 https://www.climateassembly.uk/report/read/executive-summary.html#executive-summary

Third, we need a clear plan for phasing out fossil fuel extraction: oil, coal, gas. @RobertJenrick is, right now, thinking about whether to override the @CumbriaCC decision to consent a new coal mine. Policy in this area is pretty confused. 5/6 https://greenallianceblog.org.uk/2020/10/09/lessons-from-the-coalface-what-the-cumbria-coal-mine-story-tells-us-about-uk-climate-strategy/
Verdict: A welcome list of good climate stuff - but not yet a plan.
Govt has to produce a Paris-compatible plan (NDC) before next year's COP26, so there will be more to come.
Here's a checklist they might want to use....
