my overanalysis on scaramouche; a thread
warning ! this will include spoilers for the new chapter and the story in 1.1
Scaramouche, known by his alias "The Skirmisher", is No.6 of the Eleven Harbingers of the Fatui. Which means he's either valuable to the team or stronger than Childe and Signora, they never explained how they ranked the harbingers.
his name, "Scaramouche", in italian theatre is known to be an unreliable, deceitful, and villainous character. Accompanied by either a smart or dumb level of intelligence. They're known to be servants or henchmen and boastful as well as cowardly.
This means that he might be one of the main tacticians of the team and will be trying to gain our trust (like with childe). This probably why he didnt introduce himself as a harbinger and instead said vagrant from inazuma.
he'll definitely be guiding us in the main story so that we can proceed to inazuma, the next destination that zhongli told us about.
They released that he's an electro user but where is his vision? simple, he's hiding it. he shows that he's an electro user through the symbol on his shirt. stated by zhongli, the electro archon in inazuma collected all the visions given to the vision bearers to restore +
eternality within inazuma and to inlay them upon the hands of a statue of the Thousand-Armed, Hundred-Eyed God.
Now what is his role in all of this?
as you can see his title is "The skirmisher", now what is a skirmisher?
a skirmisher is a minor troop in war thats used to weaken the enemy forces. the attacks brought by skirmishers are unpredictable and random at most. so hes supposed to weaken us as much as possible before we arrive to snazhnaya.
skirmishers are also used to lookout or check the situation to help the major troops in war and plan out what tactics are best suited to help them. which means he's informing the harbingers of what we can do while he travels with us most likely.
he'll most likely not open up about the fact he's a harbinger to us in order to analyze us more and send more info to the rest of the harbingers.
