Want to see some #bullshitandspin?

Good old Scotty flew to Melbourne and as luck would have it, happened to find himself at The Malvern Hotel.

Of course being the shy retiring types, the hotel plugged the PM's visit on their socials.

Who doesn't when the PM randomly drops in?
And not just randomly dropped in dear reader, but also happened to have local Lib MP Katie Allen with him. Which is handy because Ms Allen is a doctor and the PM was due to speak about . . .

A BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!

So it's just as well Ms Allen randomly posted the photo as well.
And what a lucky pair of owners the Malvern Hotel has.

Because before you knew it, where should the photos of Scotty's random, every day, just walking past visit end up?

On the Melbourne evening news.

Channel 9 news of course.

Lucky Scott Morrison randomly picked that pub.
But the best part is that the next day, Ross Stephenson & Russel Howcroft had the "Scott Morrison randomly drops into the Malvern Hotel" story on their radio show too.

How lucky is that?

The story ran on 3AW - which is owned by the Nine network group too.
What's even better of course is that Russel Howcroft - the co-host of that show and patron of the Malvern Hotel - is also contracted to advise the Morrison on how to sell themselves to average Australians.

How lucky is that?
But what's even luckier for the PM is that he happened to be caught at the exact same Malvern Hotel last year.

And not just that, but the same cheesy headline accompanied his totally random visit that time too.

And of course Scottie's mates at 3AW were glad to help out again.
As of course was Lib MP Katie Allen who happened to randomly find herself at - guess where? - the Malvern Hotel with Scott Morrison last year just before the federal election.

And posted about it all on Facebook in a very random, and totally uncoordinated fashion.
And the Malvern Hotel are very lucky they didn't know about the staged photo ops for the Prime Minister happening in their pub that were then leaked to the media for marketing tie-ins.

They have lots of fans in the Liberal party - as their instagram account and Hansard shows.
All of this of course tied in nicely with creating Scott Morrison's image of relatability and being just the average Daggy Dad.

This helps people empathise with him when he makes the Big Announcements.

Like this Big Announcement he made in Melbourne in between barre & beers.
Apparently dear reader, Scott Morrison and his government are committing ONE BILLION DOLLARS!

It's true because even the Daily Telegraph tied it into their massive Scotty headlines in a not at all pre-arranged marketing spin kind of way.

Loving that Liberal party branding too.
The only issue of course is the company Seqeris is actually investing the lion's share of that ONE BILLION DOLLARS!

$800 million of the $1 billion in fact.

Scotty is putting in $200 mill.

But then $200 million doesn't sound nearly as sexy on the news headlines as $1 billion.
But as we've learned with Scott Morrison & his announcements & the media - why bother with the finer details like the facts when you can get stories told for free?

And by the time the truth arrives, Scotty has moved on to the next Big Announcement as the fawning media follows.
There is of course, nothing wrong with the lucky Malvern Hotel grabbing some free publicity.

But let's not kid ourselves that this was anything other than part of a massive marketing tie-in.

A tie-in to the (ho, ho, silly Scotty) barre lessons and a tie-in to the Ch 9 selfies.
And a tie-in to the 24 hour a day, relentless electioneering leadership of this Prime Minister.

That's how Scott Morrison operates his government - as if he's campaigning for an election.

Our country's leadership is underwritten by circus tent announcements & #bullshitandspin
