Plaghanov, a Russian Marxist, who translated "Das Capital" in Russian opined that Russia was not fit for Socialism as Capitalism hadn't reached its mature phase. He held the view that struggle for a socialist society first needed the development of capitalism in agrarian Russia
Lenin rejected his opinion and wrote the book "What is to be done?" in 1901. If Lenin, considering the opinion of Plaghanov, decided to promote Capitalism; the world wouldn't have seen SOVIET UNION. He argued that if socialism is not promoted bourgeois ideologies will take over
Lenin went on to prove that undeveloped countries can also set up Socialism. Today we call it "Marxism-Leninism" China was also not a developed country in 1949 but Mao went ahead with Socialism without promoting Capitalism first. In India, we followed the words of Plaghanov
