We’re hoping that if we keep reducing interchange numbers enough, eventually coaches will forget what defending is.
The only difference between coaching strategy and player fitness now and the 80s is definitely more interchange rotations. Nothing else has changed.
What if we just used points for to split teams with equal wins instead of percentage to reward high scoring teams? Might work, but why bother when making players a bit more tired will definitely solve the problem. Just like it did last time rotations were reduced.
Worried about teams prioritising athletes over footballers? Making aerobic capacity even more important will definitely help fix that.
